How pathetic. “Why we write” is a play on “why we fight” which used in terms of war. These clowns — many whom are the same chickenhawks from the Bush years — are truly delusional and have a grandiose image of themselves. It really is like a cult.

The wingnut mind is invested in painting situations in glorious terms, especially ones involving the glorification of war (and co-opting the perceived ‘glory’ of war). They’re extremely invested in presenting their little slapfights as a war, because (their thinking goes) if it’s ‘war’ then anything they can do to the enemy is justified.
