Yes, Bryan, you do have an explanation for the origins of life. It’s a bad explanation, but it’s an explanation nonetheless.

Why do knuckledraggers like Fishcer hold it AGAINST scientists when they say “we don’t know, but we’re working on it”?

An answer in all seriousness:

Because they come from a mindset of divine authority that always claims to know. Their arrogance and insecurity can not handle a world that does not fall into simple explanations and appeals to authority. I’m not saying this to be mean per se. I mean very seriously that there is a mindset that simply can’t handle being out of a certain well defined and highly structured comfort zone. To say “I don’t know” is seen as a weakness rather than a strength.

Ultimately that structured comfort zone comes from insecurity. They could not imagine saying “I don’t know, but I’ll figure it out” because they project themselves on others. They can’t imagine figuring it out, so of course no one else will eventually either…
