There is no excuse for physical abuse of a child, and rarely any excuse to spank a child old enough to be punished with more effective consequences that they can understand. But there is nothing wrong with swatting a small child on the bottom in an extreme situation to emphasize NO!…and a generation of bratty, neurotic narcissists resulted from parents who would never, ever, dream of spanking their little angel.

Yeah, fool. And Dobson is talking about using a switch (“a slender, flexible shoot cut from a tree”) on the child’s butt or legs. Will you let me take two or three swipes at your butt with a switch and then tell me how it felt? And this for being “strong-willed”.
