Anybody here ice skate?

My daughter went skating for the first time today and really liked it. If she decides to go enough I told her I would buy a pair of skates rather than renting. The question I have is what type of skate is good for beginners? The figure skating style with toe picks or the hockey style?

definitely get figure skates.
