Dude, if you can’t understand that parts of culture like the representation of women as sexually passive, the shame attached to having been raped, the mainstreaming of “No sometimes means yes”, and all the rest of the various things in our culture that create the circumstances for rape and allow people to get away with it, then I can’t really do much for you. It’s pretty fucking obvious what rape culture is to any marginally half-aware person.

Sigh. And here I am breaking my rule.

I see “representation of women as sexually passive” a LOT in other cultures. Ours? Not at all.
