re: #504 Milty

How about — a woman was raped, she can choose to have an abortion. A woman was a victim of incest, she can choose to have an abortion. In both cases I imagine she should also not have to pay from her own pocket.

We already have this. Republicans want to make it harder for these women to have abortions.

A woman got pregnant because she slept with some guy, maybe she wasn’t careful, maybe she wanted the baby and then she regretted it. She can abort the baby at her own expense if the pregnancy is not advanced, but the father should also have some kind of say, it is his baby, too.

“A woman lent a man $5. The man bought a car. Now he can’t afford the repayments and wants to get rid of it. But the woman should be able to have some kind of say. It’s her car too.”

Similarly nonsensical.

As to what is “advanced” and what is still an early stage, that is not an easy question to answer. But there should be some understanding for the position that says that beyond a certain stage of pregnancy you are doing something that is morally very problematic. And there should also be some understanding that a baby is not just the mother’s, it is also the father’s.

Yes, and we already have this situation too, but Republicans want to essentially prevent any abortion from happening. You are arguing the pro-choice position here, bud.
