The thing is, the right wingers have their own purity types: It’s called the Tea Party. And unfortunately, that shit actually worked for them, because the right wing is fucking reprehensible. So now the left-wing purity ponies think they can pout and whine and get their goddamn way, and it isn’t working and is leading to dumb shit like Donald J. Trump, and they can’t figure out why it’s different.

Did the Tea Party really work for them? Right now the Tea Party is a pain in the butt to the entire GOP.

I am watching Chris Hayes tonight as my politics TV news for the evening. He was talking with Jennifer Rubin and another guy (I didn’t catch his name) that effectively the Freedom Caucus* has made the Democrats the majority in Congress.

Their thinking is because the standard crazy Republicans can’t muster a majority because the Freedom Caucus is even crazier and won’t work with them, the normal Republicans are forced to work with Democrats to get anything through the house. Example: The Budget Bill.

That gives power to the Democrats who outnumber the normal Republicans minus the Freedom Caucus.

So it is really not working because the Freedom Caucus isn’t getting anything done either.
