Cohen’s problems just got a whole lot worse. We had been talking about whether the DOJ would respect attorney client privilege. They applied the crime fraud exception to get the warrant.
Well, as they dug into the paperwork, they found… Cohen’s performing “little to no legal work” and exchanged zero emails with Trump. Other communications? They’re going to be claiming attorney client privilege isn’t much of an issue. As I was saying last night, they’re giving him more deference than he’s actually entitled to.
In a nutshell, DOJ says Cohen appeared to have few clients other than President Trump, and didn’t communicate with him in ways that would have been revealed in its search, so attorney-client privilege isn’t much of an issue. pic.twitter.com/xIXqCcmORV
