Students stage walkout, rally at Capitol over police shooting
Students from University of Wisconsin-Madison and local high schools staged a walkout Monday morning and marched to the state Capitol, where they planned to protest the death of Tony Robinson.
Just before noon, protesters began to enter the Capitol amid chants by organizers, “be peaceful.”
Plans for the “All Madison Walk out” were posted on Facebook.
Students walked out of classes at Madison East High School and at least one middle school at 10:30 a.m. University students gathered at Bascom Hall before beginning a march to the Capitol.
