You could all be right. Libya could be saying what it thinks it needs to say to keep bombs from dropping. The proof’s in the pudding: do the tanks stop rolling?

We’ll see. If Quaddafi’s smart and rational (not a foregone conclusion, by any means) he knows he can’t go toe-to-toe with NATO. But that doesn’t stop him from doing other evil shit on the ground.

So this could be a long-term exercise, not a short-term one.
