A trio of House Democrats, including San Diego’s Scott Peters SD, blocked a proposal in Biden’s BuildBackBetter plan to require drug makers to negotiate their prices with the federal government. Peters said the proposal puts 27K SD jobs at risk

So these jobs are dependent on overcharging pensioners for their meds?

Virtually every drug company donated to Rep. Peters’s campaign. I think “follow the money” applies.
