Twice. European Tanker task Force out RAF Mildenhall in the early 80’s. Had to use dedicated airplanes (Q models) that had separate tanks for the Habus and the 135’s. They had a fuel blended with boron compounds that allowed them to do the voodoo that they did do so well. Most of their dedicated tankers were based out of Beale AFB, in Marysville, CA. But when we were in Europe, different crews got to fly different missions. Kinda cool.

What would have happened if they over shot? and you could not hook up with them?
