Might as well say Hancock, then; without his money, the Revolution wouldn’t have gotten anywhere, either.

Washington was important, definitely. But so were all the other practical ones— like Sam Adams, Revere, and Franklin.

In terms of defining American character, John Adams will always remain the man for me.

He is certainly the Founder I would most like to be like.
