Probably because most of the people in the UFO community are a rather laughable bunch. They are almost from Hollywood central casting.

Having known my share of absolutely appalling skeptics, I’d say there’s no shortage of madness out there.

What I’ve really noticed is that if people wear sweaters that smell of sweat, they’re not sane. No matter how “rational” their point of view on one subject. At some point, they will spout utter madness.

It’s become a thing I look for, and even gently probe at.
