the opposite of moderation like neutrality would be, I guess, extremism. That’s something we ought to avoid. I loved Barry Goldwater if for no other reason than he was HONEST. But his famous line that Moderation in defense of Freedom is no virture nor is extremisim in defense of liberty a vice” was just wrong (and I’m sure I got that quote incorrectly - but the extremism part is iirc pretty much dead on. And that is one of the problems.
BTW, I don’t think that the Anti-Jihad movement is dead. Martin Mawyer is not a spokesperson for it.
