I pointed out how not only are those two totally unrelated things, but that we have independent confirmation about her claims of having at least some control over the schedule. Her statement was obviously over-broad if you ignore all the context, but she absolutely did have more say than any Astrologer ever should.

You bet, it’s an obvious easy argument to make. Kinda makes the whole thing moot apart from latter day shots at RWNJ’s.

Well, it’s also that the whole thing was kind of fucked up. I feel sorry for Nancy but it does speak to Ronald Reagan’s leadership as President that he allowed that irrational personal shit to filter down to his Chiefs of Staff and to dictate White House scheduling in the first place. Historically it matters, especially as the GOP has essentially beatified Reagan’s legacy, with all of the revisionism that entails.
