What astonishes me, is the Cats realize that they are watching at a some sort of mirror and at an image of themselves.

That is the mirror test though, a dog for example would see the phone as a phone with a cat/human on it, the cats understand that the āreflectionā is actually their owner behind them irl.

Also, incidentally, that their world is nearly as reliant on *visual input* as a humanās is, since the filter thatās throwing them doesnāt alter scent, sound or touch!
