The thought occurred to me that if they want to know how long Kim Il Jong has actually been dead, they need to find out when rehearsals started for the elaborate dances for his funeral, and when the giant posters started being painted.

Well, that would give away the plot so if there was a mini-coup, it must’ve looked to the outside (with those preparing dances and portraits being part of the outside) as naturally as possible, so I doubt such hints are available.
