By ‘58, rock had not really developed into ‘schools’. The only split was Black rock and White (often cover) rock. Dick Clark did a very good job of bridging them.

Consensus among White Pittsburgh kids was that Paul Anka’s “Diana” was the greatest oldie (more than 90 days old).
