People building a house in or near Trier, Germany, have learned not to excavate a cellar. It is all too likely that one will stumble across some Roman ruins and have to suspend construction until the authorities can come out and investigate.

Heck, I’d get a thrill out of it if I found something like that, even if I couldn’t keep it.
