Actually, life will get uncomfortable in another 1-2 billion years; in about 5 the Sun will run out of hydrogen in the core, and start to swell as hydrogen fuses in the outer layers and helium fuses in the core. Eventually it becomes a red giant, possibly growing to the radius of Earth’s orbit, and eventually goes out to a white dwarf

Wiki is usually ok for Astronomy and Physics related articles. The only problem I ever noticed with it was the article for Black Dwarfs having a picture of Gary Coleman in place of the H-R diagram.
