It’s stuff like that platform and the SBOE idiocy that has permanently turned me off to the GOP. The Dems around here suck, but voting for them is better than supporting that laundry list of idiocy.

Personally, from all the craziness that came from the Texas GOP platform, I found this clause to be the most egregious.

Opposing all criminal or civil penalties against anti-gay activists and any actions they make take to “oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values.”

Read that again if you need to.
The Texas GOP is giving the green light to anti-gay violence, saying that it should be immune to prosecution both criminally and civilly.
