Why on earth do you trust whoever’s in charge of the police department to make smart decisions on that? That’s the part of your argument that makes zero sense.

That way lies a corrupt chief of police stacking the department with his cronies, just as easily as it does a stalwart chief firing the bad apples.

So why do you think it’s a solution?
