Point our fingers at these dictatorships and act like our policies and actions have nothing to do with them. You mentioned the Dirty War last night I believe. The Reagan Administration was a strong supporter of that regime. You even had some like Jesse Helms support them in their war with the UK over the Falklands.

Reagan supported them right up to the Falklands War. Then things changed. But a lot of foot dragging was involved.
