I guess I shouldn’t let small things like, oh, people slinging mud at a former POTUS, get me down, when all kinds of vague, rather bad things are happening in the world every day.

Or something like that.

While you are wringing your hands you might also consider when and with whom the accusations originated and how many various media outlets promulgated them.
