I finally mounted my handmade custom skis with freeheel bindings today. I was sweating bullets! Took me almost an hour to make sure my measurements were correct, two minutes to drill the holes and another ten minutes to fill in the holes with epoxy and screw in the base plates.

When I go skiing with this particular setup I have almost $3000 worth of ski gear attached to my feet (boots, bindings, skis). I think I’ll buy a sturdy ski lock tomorrow morning.

I can imagine just how nerve-wracking that must have been to do the mounting. It’s all different when it’s YOUR stuff that you’re drilling on. (just curious, how many times did you measure, walk away, and then come back and check it “one more time”?)
