Don’t have any disagreement on that which is why I’d like to see conversations about the things on which we do agree. Let’s say… closing the “gun show” loophole. Very popular, lots of cooperation to be had, etc.

That is an argument the majority could win, but the minority will still hold that there should be no rules, on faith. Real bipartisanship implies that other than the nutcases the great majority at least agree on the end result. Even in this case there is no agreement by a very significant minority on the end result at all.
