And because I feel like some flag-waving this morning, here’s a message to the crews of any Russian T-72B3s near the borders with NATO:

Hmm. As I recall the T-72 has reactive armour which gives it, I suspect, a bit more survivability that the M-1. It’s also got a lower profile.

On the other hand I don’t think the gun is that good. Historically Russian optics aren’t great. That low profile means less gun depression so it will be harder to get hull down. Finally I wonder if it’s still got that automatic loader that has a round out in the open at all times. Not a big contributor to survival.

Hopefully we won’t have to compare with combat any time soon, or at all.
