It does depend on the situation. I was also stopped once for a broken taillight and the cop was cool about it. Didn’t get a ticket then either.

Nonetheless, the last time I was stopped I’d blown through a red light at like 2 am, was tipsy (coming back from a gig), and they didn’t ticket me. If I’d been male, or not white, or just older, they’d have ticketed me for sure and they should have.

Yeah. Prejudices are there, and they’re tough to deal with because they’re impossible to prove. Did the officer really ticket you because you’re a young Hispanic male, or did he ticket you because it’s the end of the month, he needs to hit his quota, and you just happened to be going just fast enough for him to nail you?
