It probably takes more energy than not to get an ice age going because all that precipitation has to be boiled off the oceans (with an equivalent amount of energy - you are vaporizing the water) and then the water vapor has to be carried on the wind to northern & southern places, and it takes energy to blow the wind.
I would bet that “global differential warming” might just be something that could lead into an ice age.
