re: #569 goddamnedfrank

A few weeks ago I drove out on the 58 out from Bakersfield through past Tehachepi through Mojave and into godforsaken Palmdale. Approaching the Tehachapi Pass saw this huge wind farm along the entire ridge, spinning furiously. Past Tehachapi, into and through Mojave there were no wind generators to be seen, but I damn near got blown off the road. I think there’s a whole lot of the country that is prime for wind farming.

There surely is. The biggest obstacle to using this available, comparatively cheap and economically stimulating resource is the NIMBY factor. We absolutely have to teach people the benefits of it and get it deployed ASAP. I think that if people realized just how much cheaper their power would be and how many jobs it would create they would be less likely to cry NIMBY. That is the largest issue in Britain as well. The tech is right here waiting to be used and people are simply too ignorant and foolish to look into it properly.
