Seriously why would a Falwell embrace a Trump? I know they share bigotry but remember these guys didn’t exactly trust Romney either. Yeah I know how Fundies view Mormons but Trump has no religion at all in his life. This is all making sense now.

Kinda-sorta-not-contrarian opinion: Falwell and his Pulpit Pimp brethren support Trump for one reason only: politics. They know the Orange Anus cares only about about being admired and applauded: and if they do it ( with “God’s” endorsement, no less), they figure they’ll have an uncritical ally in the WH. For what that’s worth.
Hypocritical? Given that The Donald is a walking compendium of The Seven Deadlies, with no discernible religious feelings, sure. But he’ll use the bully pulpit to praise them, and help push their pet hates and grifts, so machts nicht…
