There’s a lot to be proud of in Colin Powell’s legacy, but his presentation to the UN advocating for war against Iraq with evidence he knew was bullshit may have been the most consequential thing he did.

He later claimed (not sure if I believe him) that he didn’t know, that the intelligence agencies, at Cheney’s direction, lied to him.
