Exactly. If you ever eat deserts, cookies, etc from Mexico or Europe, the difference in taste is practically exponential - because they use cane sugar instead of (*cough, gag*) corn sugar, you get something that tastes like real food instead of a sickeningly sweet saccharine brine.
I’ve cut high fructose corn syrup out of my diet almost completely, and one’s body adjusts accordingly - I’m not sure I can even tolerate it now. If I “stray” and out of desperation eat some vending machine abomination, I feel bloated, nauseous and ill.
