I was just thinking about Trotsky. He looks good in Stalin’s “light”, also because of the Dewey commission, but he wasn’t really better.

I once read through a thick chronology of the SR trial (still have a couple of volumes about it). It was the first (or one of the first) such shameful show trial(s), and Trotsky had a hand in it, as did the rest of Stalin’s future victims.
