I don’t think that Halal prohibits mixing meat and dairy, as kosher does, so you could have a halal menu that includes everything that school kids are already used to, except that you substitute halal turkey pastrami for bacon. It’s not necessary to offer exotic Middle Eastern cuisine.

That illustration, which BTW is just a random “Halal meal” that I found on Google image search, NOT a typical menu item at the Dearborn school cafeteria, looks so delicious maybe I will make something like it for dinner.
