It’s a Bad Idea is what it is. Even if the settlers are correct about security risks, in a counter-insurgency situation ‘optics’ matter a lot, sometimes more than the actual facts. And the optics of this are horrendous.

If the Palestinians are smart, they’ll reply to this with a boycott of all effected bus lines but without any throwing of stones or violent slogans. It worked for Dr. King in Montgomery, after all.
