Liberty to a Libertarian doesn’t mean the same thing it means to other people.

For other people it generally means something like the freedom to go about your business with minimal government interference.

For a Libertarian, they are talking about “economic freedom” (the ability to avoid paying taxes and government restrictions on how they spend their money). For American libertarians, that means they stick to a very narrow reading of the Constitution (such as the government should own no property beyond military bases).

Libertarianism always leads to an oligarchy, fascism, or anarchy anywhere it is implemented.

To a libertarian the “tragedy of the commons” is that there are laws out there trying to prevent them from unilaterally exploiting and ruining the commons without concern for anyone else.
