He didn’t abandon it quickly. He tried to explain it, but it was talking to a brick wall since the media, for the most part, only wanted to report on the people who were hysterically making baseless accusations. Did you read the article I linked? It explains pretty well that there are not many of these management companies in the world.

He did believe it was a decent deal. Maybe he abandoned it because it was not going to be worth it in the end once both sides started throwing uninformed hysteria at it, the press reporting it honestly, and congress threatening to make economy destroying laws to ‘solve the problem’. He made the best decision. Perhaps both times, but we’ll never know.

And because we’ll never know, you blame it on the media and Congress, and give Bush the benefit of the doubt. Is this a fair assessment of what you said?

And if a President Obama wanted to outsource our port security, you would react in exactly the same way, right?
