Do be aware that the Corelle that is made now is not the same quality as when Corning made it. It is now owned by “World Kitchen” as are Ekco, Revereware, Pyrex bakeware, and other formerly respectable brands. Their plan is to make what they can from the brand’s name recognition and move on.
My brother had 2 or 3 Corelle bowls’ bottoms separate from the sides in the dishwasher. I’ve read reports of Reverware saucepans so thin that you could feel the stamped name on the bottom when you ran your finger along the inside of the pot. Pyrex brand is no longer borosilicate glass-it’s just heavyweight glass and can fail in a very spectacular fashion with changes in temperature. (The manufacturer disputes that the pans “explode” because technically they don’t do that. They just spontaneously shatter and throw glass shards all over the kitchen.)
