Chuck Grassley tweeted about hitting a deer in his Prius (another tweet episode coming on that I’m sure)

Someone asked him about the deer, he said he didn’t have a flashlight so assumed it died.

And now this:

I ran over a deer once. I was on ice so I was unable to apply the brakes without getting into an uncontrollable slide, but I tried to drive around it. It moved in front of me anyway and fell under the car. When I managed to stop, I took a few seconds to find a knife so I could put it out of its misery if it were badly injured.

When I went back to find the animal, it was gone. There was no evidence it was bleeding, and I had no idea which direction it took off so I couldn’t even follow it to check on it.

They’re tougher than they look.
