Actually that first line is not correct. Obama is not trusted by people who don’t trust him. The same people who believe that he is a foreign born socialist secret Muslim who wants to kill Grandma after putting her in front of a death panel.

You know, those people.

Most people are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until there is a real, live health reform bill on the table and up for a vote. I think sane people on both sides of the aisle should keep their powder dry until there is some reality to discuss. Right now, it’s legislative vapor.

Part of the reason neither side can afford to hold fire too much is the need to maintain their base of support. A least some yelling at the other side is needed to maintain public support. I don’t like that fact very much, but like the song says: “It’s like that, and that’s the way it is.”
