Any other way would be a waste of time. Though sometimes internal honesty is I think hard to achieve. You likely need to get the opinions of others. Getting others to be honest with you and being able to deal with that honesty is not easy.

I have someone in my life that pulls no punches with me. At times it isn’t easy. In the end it’s the only way for me anyway.

That’s pretty much what I was thinking right after I answered you. I can be more adept at lying to myself than anyone I know. Other times I’ve thought I being honest, but was actually making assumptions about things I couldn’t possibly know. Then sometimes when we screw up we get overly critical, which doesn’t really help either.

It can be difficult to maintain a healthy balance.
