I’m 66 and I think that hauling out these retreads is a colossal mistake if only for the reason that we’re counting on younger voters. If any of them were liberal firebrands like the late Ted Kennedy then fine, but none of them are even close. If the leadership of both parties is composed of superannuated White people then it’s difficult to avoid the perception that we’re all selling the same shit just in different cans.

Right. I mean I think part of the reason why Obama resonated so well initially with many younger voters was his youth and enthusiasm. Hillary and I like her bear in mind seems to see the presidency like I feel Mitt Romney does, a resume item. We do need more liberal firebrands in the leadership though. There was a time that it looked like Pelosi could be that in the House but it wasn’t the case. And Reid has never been a liberal.
