Dumping the SSM ruling right before a weekend also gives the Rs a chance to run and hide while their freakopath base tears itself to bits this weekend.

However I don’t know if word leaks out on rulings early - like, when all of Washington already knows what the outcome will be, but it’s not public yet… I’m unclear on how the SC issues its decisions.
