There’s nothing wrong with that first paragraph. We do have a debt problem. Some people want to make the problem even bigger, unnecessarily, by defaulting. They want to make the problem so big, that they can justify radical actions, like cutting social services without raising taxes.

I find it stunning that the problem is viewed as a CRISIS, yet not so bad that we could raise taxes a little bit.

I don’t think now is the time with unemployment running close to 10% but I’m willing to compromise. Raise taxes and actually cut spending.
