If you say an old white man cannot incite young people to vote I will point you towards Bernie. Its not necessarily the candidate that needs to energize people - its the people that need to energize themselves by being knowledgeable and understanding the topics at hand. The dog (people) wags the tail (candidate) - the tail cannot wag the dog.
And I will point out that Bernie couldn’t inspire enough people to defeat Clinton, but Obama did. If you expect a majority of voters to inspire themselves to vote for a grumpy old white man, I think you’re going to be disappointed. Just look at Obama and Trudeau.
