… Energy will be Obama’s next major battle, if he really gets to it. I hope he does and I hope he sticks to his ideas of alternative fuel sources. I’d like to see nuclear energy grow, altho disposal is a problem. Solar and wind, too. In fact, most of the large energy companies are already well into solar and wind research.
Take it as a fact that Cap and trade is going down. I believe even Sen Feingold is having second thoughts. Then the President can get on to an energy policy.
We agree nuclear is a good idea. France seems to have no problem with storage. I understand all the waste material is under the floor of one of the plants.
Of course we all want our plug-in hybrids. And so we will have to burn a lot more coal, nat gas and uranium in some combination for 20 years until solar delivers a little bit.
Cash for clunkers should have required the 40+ mpg diesels that are coming from Germany and could come from the USA. That would dramatically cut carbon emissions.
