If Egypt essentially said “Screw you guys we’re invading Gaza and Libya”, you might expect us to cut them off. NOTE: I’m not equating what ludwig said with that, but I couldn’t think of an appropriate parallel for Egypt. Israel’s situaion really is unique in that sense ;p

the parallel i’m suggesting…in fact it’s more perpendicular than parallel, is that we support Egypt despite their not being as democratic and helpful in the region as we’d like.

logically, then, i would expect that if Israel behaved a bit more like Egypt, or more poorly in our eyes, we would not necessarily be forced to alter our assistance - since we already assist other countries with whom we disagree more often than we do with Israel…
