Okay. Back when it was perfectly acceptable to take your wife and kids to a bear-baiting, when it was actually part of culture, not a skulking thing that people did in their basements with sweaty palms.

Still is, in a number of places, along with dog-fighting, and other blood sports. It;s not gone at all, and it’s only disapproved of or forbidden in some places; however, those who delight in seeing one beast tear apart another may choose from any number of such “sports” today, and without violating any local law.
